Syn Free Creamy Chicken and Mushroom Pasta

A delicious low-sync, creamy chicken and mushroom pasta recipe - the Slimming World pasta recipe perfect for the whole family.


  • 2.5 cups of chicken stock
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • salt and black pepper
  • 4 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 8 tbs of low-fat cream cheese (8 syns)
  • 300g (10.5oz) of mushrooms, sliced thinly
  • 3 x chicken breast (approx 510g/17.5oz), sliced into tenders
  • 320g (11.28oz) of Penne pasta (or other pasta of choice)
  • spray oil
  • a handful of fresh chopped Italian parsley, finely chopped


First, cook the pasta al dente, reserve two ladles of pasta water then drain and reserve.

Then, spray a pan with spray oil

Add the chicken pieces and fry until lightly browned on both sides. Remove and reserve.

Spray with a little more spray oil

Add the shallot, garlic and mushrooms and sauté for 2 minutes.

Pour a little broth and reduce, continue to repeat with a little broth, until the mushrooms are beautiful and golden.

Whip cream cheese in remaining broth and reserved pasta water

Add to the pan with the mushrooms and bring to a boil. Simmer uncovered until the sauce decreases and begins to thicken slightly.

Add pasta and chicken and simmer until chicken is cooked through and sauce thickens.

Stir through the parsley.

Season well with salt and black pepper

Serve and taste.
