SLOW COOKER MISSISSIPPI POT ROAST

SLOW COOKER MISSISSIPPI POT ROAST

This Mississippi Pot Roast is the most delicious pot roast you'll ever eat! Made with just seven simple ingredients and cooked slowly in the slow cooker, you'll fall in love!

Ingredients
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 8 pepperoncini peppers
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup salted butter 1 stick
  • 1 3 lb chuck roast
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix

Instructions

First, heat a large skillet over high heat.

Then, add the oil to the hot pan.

You want it to be really hot here to brown or "sear" the beef quickly.

Take a paper towel and make sure to dry both sides of the roast.

Season with a little salt and pepper.

Once the pan is hot, add the roast.

Cook the roast for about 2-3 minutes until it is golden brown.

Using tongs, turn the meat over and sear the other side of the roast for 2-3 minutes.

Transfer the meat to the slow cooker.

Sprinkle sachets of dry ranch dressing and onion soup mix over the roast.

Garnish with a stick of butter then place the peppers on and around the roast.

Cover and cook at low temperature for 8 hours.

Take two forks and start shredding the meat.

Discard large, fatty pieces. Happy Cooking Time.
