Banana Bread Scones
This quick bread scone with cinnamon cheese frosting is crunchy on the surface and fluffy on the within . The scones are sprinkled with sweet icing, making this snack great for breakfast, dessert, or an early morning snack!
2½ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon leaven
½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
¼ cup plus 1 tbsp white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, dig small cubes
2 ripe bananas, puree
4 tablespoons of any sort of milk
½ cup Greek vanilla yogurt
WASHING THE EGGS
1 teaspoon water
CHEESE CINNAMON CREAM ICING
3 tablespoons soft cheese
¼ cup of granulated sugar
2 tablespoons of milk
¼ teaspoon flavorer paste or vanilla
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1.In a medium bowl, beat together flour, salt, leaven , bicarbonate of soda , sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add butter to the flour mixture and dig a kitchen utensil or hand to resemble breadcrumbs. Set aside.
2.In a large bowl, combine mashed banana, milk, and Greek yogurt. Shake well to mix completely. Pour the flour mixture into the banana mixture and blend until combined. take care to not mix an excessive amount of , as this may make the dough hard.
4.Sprinkle a table or other flat surface with a light-weight layer of flour. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and pat it into 8 inch circles.
5.Transfer the dough to alittle plate or skillet lined with parchment paper and place within the freezer for about quarter-hour . this may help the scones to cook to rise, otherwise the dough will flatten if not chilled.
6.While the scones are cooling, preheat oven to 400 ° F. Line an outsized baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
7.To prepare eggs, beat the eggs and water during a small bowl.
8.Remove the dough from the freezer, dig 8 slices and place on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the scones with egg. Place within the oven and bake for about 15 to 18 minutes, or until lightly browned.
9.When the scones have cooled completely, prepare the frosting. during a small bowl, beat cheese , granulated sugar , milk, vanilla and cinnamon until smooth. Drizzle cold scones.
