Chocolate Swirl Banana Bread
This Banana Chocolate Swirl Bread is super moist banana bread with chocolate swirls, simple to make, and a real decadent treat.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup of vegetable oil
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup low-fat buttermilk
- ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ cups mashed ripe banana (about 3 bananas)
- Cooking spray
- Additional mini chocolate chips, for topping (optional)
Instructions
First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 8½ x 4¼-inch loaf pan with cooking spray and set aside.
Then, in a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, beat sugar and oil over medium heat until blended (about 1 minute). Add the banana, egg, buttermilk, and vanilla and beat until blended.
Stir the flour mixture into the banana mixture, gently stirring the dough until just damp.
Place chocolate chips in a medium microwave-safe bowl for 1 minute (on high power) or until almost melted. Cook in the microwave for an additional 30 seconds, if necessary. Stir until smooth and let cool slightly.
Add 1 cup of chocolate batter, stirring until combined.
Place the dough in the prepared bread pan, alternating the natural dough and the chocolate dough. Stir the pasta together with a knife. Sprinkle top with additional chocolate chips, if desired.
Bake for 1 hour and 10 to 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool 10 minutes in pan on a wire rack and remove from pan on a wire rack to cool completely.
Happy Cooking Time.
