Old-Fashioned Chocolate Cobbler
Chocolate Cobbler is an incredibly delicious dessert that you can make quickly and easily! Everything goes in one pan and the cake makes its own sauce while baking!
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 cup of self-rising flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans
- 1 1/2 cup hot water
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 1/4 cups sugar, divided
- 7 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, divided
- 6 tablespoons of melted butter
- vanilla ice cream
- pecans for garnish
First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Then, in a medium bowl, combine 3/4 cup of the sugar, the self-rising flour, 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder, the pecans, and salt.
Add milk and vanilla, stirring until smooth.
Pour the melted butter into an ungreased 1 1/2 liter baking dish.
Pour the dough evenly over the melted butter
In a small bowl, combine the remaining 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder. Sprinkle evenly over the dough.
Do not pour water evenly over the top.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
Top with vanilla ice cream and pecans for serving.
