Saltine Cracker Candy

Saltine Cracker Candy

This cracker caramel was my grandmother's recipe. It's addicting and one of my favorite chocolate treats! Some people call this Toffee cracker “Christmas Crack”, but we make it year round.

  • 1 cup of milk chocolate chips
  • 1 sleeve of Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped toasted pecans
  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar

First, line a candy pan with foil and spray foil with cooking spray.

Then, spread crackers evenly on foil, salted side up.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

In a small saucepan, bring the butter and brown sugar to a boil over medium heat. While the butter is melting, stir frequently to combine evenly. Once the mixture is simmering, simmer without stirring for 3 minutes.

Remove from heat and pour evenly over crackers.

Place in the oven for 5 minutes.

Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Return the pan to the oven for 30 seconds to help melt the chips.

Use a spatula or knife to spread the melted chocolate evenly.

Sprinkle with pecans. Cover with foil so that the foil does not touch each other and place in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

Break into pieces. Happy Cooking Time.
