  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan, to serve

  • salt and pepper to taste I used 1/2 tsp. each

First, cook the macaroni in salted boiling water according to the directions on the package. Drain. Put aside.

Then, in a large, deep skillet or Dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat.

Add onion and sauté until light brown. Add the garlic. Add the bell pepper. Add the mushrooms.
Cook until tender.

In a skillet, brown the hamburger. Your goal is to brown the meat and break it up so that there are no large pieces. Cook until the meat is completely cooked. Drain. Add meat to sautéed vegetables.

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, V-8 juice, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, basil, oregano, honey until the sauce begins to boil, leave simmer for about 12 to 15 minutes.

Add the drained macaroni to the sauce, mix and heat.

Add the chilli flakes and Parmesan cheese before serving.
