Chili + Honey Roasted Sweet Potatoes
Honey roasted sweet potato and salted sweet potato are the right complement or pre-workout snack to recharge your batteries
1 sweet potato, cut lengthwise in half
2 teaspoons of vegetable oil
1 tablespoon of liquid honey
1/2 teaspoon flavorer
1/2 teaspoon sweet or smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon Harissa or optional cayenne
Halal salt + ground black pepper
1 lime, cut in half
Optional chopped fresh parsley
1.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
2.Brush each half sweet potato with vegetable oil , including the skin.
3.Season the entire sweet potato with kosher salt + cracked black pepper.
4.Mark the highest (inner meat) with a knife.
5.Season each top with flavorer , paprika and harissa or cayenne pepper, if used.
6.Bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees F.
7.Remove from oven and coat the highest with honey.
8.Return to the oven and bake for 10 minutes.
9.Once the sweet potatoes are tender, remove them from the oven.
10.Squeeze fresh juice over both halves when able to serve and add the parsley.
