Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

When it comes to chocolate desserts, there is nothing better than this !! These Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars have so many good qualities you have to try them to believe them!


  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 8 ounces of caramels
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of fine salt
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream / whipping cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt (optional)


First, cream the butter and sugar before mixing the vanilla extract followed by the egg.

Then, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt before mixing them with the wet ingredients.

Stir in chocolate chips and press half of mixture into bottom of greased 8-inch square pan.

Melt the caramels in the cream in a small saucepan over medium heat before pouring them on the bottom layer of the saucepan and garnishing them with salt followed by the rest of the batter.

Bake in a preheated 350F / 180C oven until the sides are lightly browned and the caramel is bubbling, about 15-20 minutes before taking out of the oven to cool before slicing and enjoying!
