Spinach Gratin
Our spinach gratin recipe is the way spinach was meant to be eaten - with lots of cheese! We've perfected this recipe so that it isn't "soupy" like the casseroles you may have tasted in the past.
Ingredients
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 1 small Onion diced
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg ground
- ½ cup Gruyere Cheese shredded
- 2 tablespoons Salted Butter
- 2 cloves Garlic finely chopped
- 1 pound Frozen Spinach defrosted and water squeezed out
- ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese shredded
Instructions
First, preheat your oven to 200C / 390F.
Then, place a saucepan over high heat and add the butter, onion and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
Add the spinach, then the salt and nutmeg. Mix well.
Add the heavy cream and bring to a boil, before adding half the Parmesan and half the Gruyères.
Remove from heat and place the mixture in a casserole dish. Top with the rest of the cheese.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
Happy Cooking Time.
