This crispy apple pizza is the perfect fall treat. The dough is very crisp and the filling is sweet and filled with fruit. You will love this!

  • Single Crust Pie Crust, (9 inches)
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 4 medium apples, (like Gala, Fiji, Braeburn, Empire peeled and cut into 1/4-inch pieces)

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oatmeal
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup salted butter, softened (see note)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup caramel filling

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Then, roll the dough to fit a 12 inch pizza pan; fold under the edges to give the pizza a slightly lifted crust. Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Add the peeled and diced apples and mix. Arrange apples in a single layer over the pie crust to cover it completely. I didn't use all of my apples because I had really big apples.

For the filling: Combine the flour, brown sugar, oats, cinnamon and butter in a bowl. Mix well. I like to use my clean hands to get in and boil until it's the texture of wet sand. Sprinkle the filling evenly over the apples.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until apples are tender. Remove from oven and immediately drizzle with caramel filling. Cut pizza into slices and serve hot with ice cream. Makes 12 servings. Happy Cooking Time.

Note: I like to use salted butter because it cuts the softness of the pizza. If you are not using salted butter, sprinkle a little salt on the crisp. Believe me. It brings out the flavors.
