Baked French Toast


Baked French Toast

Oven Baked French Toast Casserole - Quick breakfast recipe made with crispy French bread. Homemade casserole ready for 20 minutes. Prepare ahead or cook now. Perfect use of stale bread.


  • 8 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla
  • 1 loaf of sourdough bread
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream


  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cut into pieces
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon


First, cut the bread into cubes and place evenly in a greased 9x13 pan.

Then, in a bowl, combine the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar and vanilla. Pour evenly over the bread.

Cover your pot with Saran Wrap and refrigerate overnight.

Combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in a medium bowl.

Cut the butter with this mixture until crumbly and place in a Ziploc bag and also refrigerate overnight.

Remove pan and Ziploc when ready to bake. Sprinkle crumbly mixture evenly over bread.

Bake at 350 for 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the sweetness you like. Happy Cooking Time.
