GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE BARS






If you love caramel, pecans, coconut and chocolate, these German chocolate cake bars are perfect for you! Made with a simple cake mix crust and topped with all the goodies, these easy cookie bars are perfect anytime you're in the mood for a decadent treat!

INGREDIENTS

Crust:

  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 can (18.25 ounces) Good Devil's Cake Mix

Filling:

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup of milk chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup grated sweetened coconut
  • Get ingredients powered by chicory

INSTRUCTIONS

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9 × 13-inch baking dish or spray with cooking spray.

Then, in a medium bowl, mix together cake mix, butter and egg and press into bottom of prepared pan. Bake for 7 minutes and remove from the oven. The crust will continue to cook in the next step.

While the crust is cooking, combine the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, egg, pecans and coconut. Pour evenly over hot crust and sprinkle evenly with chocolate chips. Bake for 24 to 30 minutes, until the top is lightly browned. Don't overcook! Remove from oven and let cool completely before cutting into squares. Happy Cooking Time.
