Sloppy Joe Casserole

Sloppy Joe Casserole

This Sloppy Joe casserole features ground beef and noodles topped with a Manwich cheese sauce with corn and diced tomatoes. Simply prepare the filling in a pan, transfer it to a pan, top with cheese and bake!

  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 large green pepper, diced
  • 1 to 1/2 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic salt
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons of dry mustard
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 large white onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1–1 / 3 cup milk
  • 6 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1–1 / 2 cup grated cheddar cheese

First, preheat the oven to 400 ° F.

Then, in a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until golden brown. Add the diced onion and bell pepper and sauté until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in the brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard and garlic salt. Add tomato sauce and ketchup and stir until well combined. Simmer the mixture over low heat while you prepare the filling.

For the filling, add the flour, baking powder and salt to a large bowl. Stir in milk, melted butter and eggs until well combined. Stir in the grated cheese.

Pour the meat mixture into a 13x9-inch baking dish. Distribute the filling evenly over the meat mixture. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the crust is lightly golden. Happy Cooking Time.
