CHICKEN DUPIAZA WITH PILAU RICE
Chicken Dopiaza with Pilau Rice - create the right cornmeal to require home with this delicious curry recipe using tender chicken thighs and double onions.
FOR DUPIAZA CHICKEN
650 g (22.9 oz.) Boneless and Skinless Chicken Thighs (raw)
320 ml (1.35 cups) chicken broth
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
4 garlic cloves, puree
2 teaspoons of turmeric powder
2 teaspoons of cumin seeds
2 teaspoons ground cilantro
1/2 to 1 teaspoon flavorer (hot deggi mirch) * the quantity depends on your preference.
2 teaspoons of Garam Masala powder
4 green cardamom pods
500 g (17.5 oz) onions, chopped
1 large carrot, finely chopped
80 ml (1/3 cup) of natural fat-free yogurt
2 tablespoons tomato puree (paste)
2 teaspoons ghee (4 syns)
FOR PILAU RICE
1.5 cups (260g) basmati rice (raw)
1 small onion, finely diced
0.5 teaspoon of turmeric
8 pieces of green cardamom
salt, for seasoning
3 cups (720 mL) water
spray vegetable oil
For the Dupiaza chicken
1.Bring alittle pot of water to a boil and add half chopped onion (250g). Boil until tender, drain and puree during a hand blender or during a kitchen appliance . put aside - this is often your onion puree
2.Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, adding ghee until melted. Add the remaining onions and carrots and sauté for a couple of minutes to melt them.
3.Add garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, turmeric, flavorer , garam masala and ingredient (puree) and blend until it forms a paste. Add a drop of water to stay it from sticking if necessary.
4.Add chicken thighs and blend to coat them with batter.
5.Pour into the broth and add cardamom. Add the onion puree and convey to a boil, then reduce the warmth a touch and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes. The liquid should became a thick sauce covering the chicken. So if it's still liquid, increase the warmth a touch in order that it boils slowly.
6.Pour a touch sauce into the yogurt, to form the yogurt reach temperature , then remove the dupiaza from the warmth and stir the yogurt.
7.It's able to be served with pilau rice and other side dishes.
For pilau rice:
1.Spray a frypan with a touch vegetable oil , add onions and saute until soft.
2.Add rice, turmeric, salt, cloves, and cardamom, stir until coated.
3.Pour into water, bring back a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until all liquid is absorbed.
4.After the liquid has soaked, add a canopy , close up the warmth and let represent 10 minutes. don't stir during the whole cooking process.
5.When able to serve, add a touch chopped coriander (cilantro).
