Sweet and Spicy Cashew Chicken

Sweet and Spicy Cashew Chicken is spicy, sweet, crispy and crunchy, this dish is everything you could hope for and more in a chicken dish.


  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 3 tablespoons of cooking oil
  • 2 cups of broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup whole cashews
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon of Sriracha sauce
  • 1 bell pepper (cut into strips)
  • 2 chicken breasts (cut into bite-size pieces)
  • 1 onion (halved and sliced)
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes


First, in a bowl, combine the cornstarch, baking soda, salt and pepper.

Then, fold in the chicken pieces coated with the mixture.

In a wok or large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil.

Add the coated chicken pieces and cook for about 5 minutes (until golden brown on all sides) Set aside on a plate.

In the same pan, heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil.

Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute.

Add the onion and sauté for 3 minutes.

Add the broccoli florets and bell pepper.

Cook for 5 minutes.

Add the cashews.

In a bowl, combine the honey, sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar and Sriracha sauce, then pour the mixture into the pan.

Return the chicken to the pan and mix well.

Continue cooking for 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
