Salsa Ranchera Recipe

This ranchera salsa recipe makes the best salsa, with fresh tomatoes, when it comes to salsa, it's hard to beat.


  • salt to taste
  • 2 serrano or jalapeno peppers
  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1 pound of Italian tomatoes
  • 1 small onion, peeled into quarters
  • 2 tablespoons of coriander


First, roast tomatoes, peppers and garlic in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat or under the grill until lightly charred on all sides, removing as needed, about 20 minutes for tomatoes and less for peppers and garlic before removing the comes from the peppers.

Then, reduce everything in a food processor until you get the desired consistency

Season with salt to taste and serve hot.
