Eggnog Cream Puffs

Want to try something new and fun for the holidays? Try these cream puffs with eggnog. This is a recipe to wow the crowds. Plan ahead and read the recipes carefully, it goes fast so you want to be prepared. Happy Holidays!!!


  • 1/8 teaspoon of salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup butter, cubed
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature


  • 1/4 cup eggnog
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1-1 / 2 cups icing sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Additional confectionery sugar


First, preheat the oven to 400 °. In a large saucepan, bring the water, butter and salt to a boil. Add the flour all at once and the nutmeg and stir until combined. Cook over medium heat, stirring vigorously, until the mixture comes off the sides of the pan. Remove from fire; let stand 5 minutes.

Then, add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition until smooth. Keep beating until the mixture is smooth and shiny. Place dough in rounded tablespoonfuls 1 inch apart on greased baking sheets. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until puffed, very firm and golden. Pierce the sides of each puff with the tip of a knife. Cool on wire racks. Cut off the top third of each puff.

In a large bowl, beat the cream until it begins to thicken. Add the icing sugar, eggnog, vanilla and nutmeg; Beat until soft tips form. Just before serving, garnish the puffs with whipped cream; replace the tops. Sprinkle with additional icing sugar. Serve immediately.
