Swiss Steak Recipes
The beef adds incredible depth of flavor to the spaghetti sauce . i feel my favorite vegetable during this recipe is carrots. They add a natural sweetness that tame the acidity of the spaghetti sauce without adding sugar.
INGREDIENTS
1 pound boneless beefsteak
24 oz jar of spaghetti sauce
2 fresh tomatoes, chopped
2 carrots, sliced
2 celery stalks, sliced
1 sliced onion
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 green or red bell pepper, sliced diagonally
1/4 cup beef broth
2 pinches Worcester sauce
2 tablespoons oil
salt and pepper
cooked rice or noodles
INSTRUCTIONS
1.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2.Cut the beefsteak into 4 parts, salt and pepper on each side of the steak. Place the steaks during a skillet with oil. Fry until steak is golden on each side . Remove from fire.
3.Place the steaks during a shallow (13x9) baking dish or small roasting pan. Add the spaghetti sauce , beef broth , Worcester sauce , garlic, onion and every one the chopped greens to the skillet. Cover with foil and bake for about 2 hours or until steak is tender. Serve over cooked rice or noodles.
