 Swiss Steak Recipes

The beef adds incredible depth of flavor to the spaghetti sauce . i feel my favorite vegetable during this recipe is carrots. They add a natural sweetness that tame the acidity of the spaghetti sauce without adding sugar.

1 pound boneless beefsteak

24 oz jar of spaghetti sauce

2 fresh tomatoes, chopped

2 carrots, sliced

2 celery stalks, sliced

1 sliced onion

1 tbsp minced garlic

1 green or red bell pepper, sliced diagonally

1/4 cup beef broth

2 pinches Worcester sauce

2 tablespoons oil

salt and pepper

cooked rice or noodles

1.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

2.Cut the beefsteak into 4 parts, salt and pepper on each side of the steak. Place the steaks during a skillet with oil. Fry until steak is golden on each side . Remove from fire.

3.Place the steaks during a shallow (13x9) baking dish or small roasting pan. Add the spaghetti sauce , beef broth , Worcester sauce , garlic, onion and every one the chopped greens to the skillet. Cover with foil and bake for about 2 hours or until steak is tender. Serve over cooked rice or noodles.
